Hilarey is currently the Editorial Director, Financial Products and Services, at finance website Investopedia, part of the Dotdash Meredith family. Prior to her role at Investopedia, Hilarey worked as the Editorial Director of The Balance, a personal finance website. She was there from 2019 to 2023. Hilarey is also an adjunct professor at the College, teaching Social Media Strategy to journalism and communication studies majors. Hilarey earned her master’s in journalism from the University of Missouri in 2017 and has a love for all things journalism, digital and social media, and content strategy. She is an active member of the women’s empowerment organization New York Women in Communications (NYWICI), of which she served on the board for three years. During her undergraduate years at the College, Hilarey participated in several organizations including Residential Education and Housing, Her Campus, The Signal, and women’s club soccer.
